ZHAW Institute of Embedded Systems (InES)
Networked devices are increasingly permeating our everyday lives. The Internet of Things is already a reality in many areas of life. The computer systems embedded in these devices, known as embedded systems, and the communication solutions required for networking are the core competences of the Institute of Embedded Systems (InES) at the ZHAW. With its expertise, the InES enables miniaturised devices and intelligent, networked systems.
InES was founded in 2003 and today has over 60 employees working in research and teaching. Thanks to interdisciplinary expertise, InES achieves a high standard in the education of students and guarantees professional and planned project implementation with its partners.
The research and development work of the InES focuses on the following areas:
- High Integrity Systems
- Communication Network Engineering
- Low-power Wireless Embedded System
- System on Chip Design
- Energy Self-Sufficient Systems
- Internet of Things
- Realtime Platforms
